Carnival
Fete & Parade 2009
Heacham’s biggest event of
the year takes place on Sunday 2 August. The highlight will be the
mid-day parade of floats led by the Carnival King and Queen. The parade,
featuring the Banham Zoo
Shirehorses, will start from Marram Way and wend its way around the
village. There will be the traditional vehicle floats as well as walking
floats, but everyone is welcome to dress up and join in. Prizes
for the best entries will be presented on the field. Carnival

Chalk Pit Try
your hand at the popular local sport of Clay Pigeon shooting with
Heacham Wildfowlers Assoc. The
sport helps develop great hand
to eye co-ordination.
The Rifle Range target practice will also be on offer. Parents are
welcome to attend and participate with their children.

Skipping
Workshop
Heacham Public Hall Skipping
has always been popular in the playground, for fitness and gymnastics.
In America it is all the rage in High School combining skipping and
dance. Parents are asked to
come to watch a 15 minute
presentation at the end of each session. (Speed ropes are provided and

Olympic Challenge
Heacham Sports Field Train
in a variety of athletic disciplines and face the Olympic style
challenge in a modern day mini pentathlon. Compete against other

the Bowler

Cricket Club will be running a session using their new bowling
machine for anyone keen to

Creations
Heacham Public Hall
Choose
an artifact from the world of ancient Greece to re-create: The ultimate
bad present a Trojan Horse, a dramatic Greek theatre mask or a 1000 year
old Greek vase. Date: 26 August Time: 10.00 am – 12 noon Age: 7- plus Cost: £4.50 (Parents are welcome to join in) BOOKING
CONDITIONS The
following conditions apply:
i.
A booking form must be submitted for each child, extra forms are
available or photocopies will be accepted.
ii.
Places on courses are limited to a specific number, therefore
only when a booking form is
received with payment is a place allocated (We do not
reserve or hold places).
iii.
If a booking is
cancelled, a refund in full or part will only be considered if the place
on the course can be re-allocated.
iv.
Registration will take place 10 minutes before the course start
time. No responsibility is taken for children until they have
been registered.
v.
Parents/Guardians
must collect their children promptly as delays lead to increased costs
and anxiety for the children.
vi.
The
Parish Council reserves the right in the event the instructor considers
that a child’s behaviour is spoiling the enjoyment for the group or
endangering safety, to remove the child from the course.
vii. Please
note that Photographs of the activities are often taken for Parish
Records or Local press. Children should wear suitable clothing for the chosen activity and bring wet weather gear. Children should also bring plenty of drinks (non fizzy) to avoid becoming dehydrated. We also advise that hats and sunscreen should be brought even on a cloudy day. Heacham
Horse Show and Gymkhana
Heacham Equestrian Sports Committee present the Heacham Horse Show and
Gymkhana on Sunday August 23th 2009 by kind permission of Mr
Micheal Dix at Marea Farm in School Road.
The show has gone from strength to strength since returning to
Heacham’s calendar in 2003. There
really is something for everyone, whether you are just starting out in
riding or more experienced. If
you have not been up to have a look at the show before why not come
along, you will marvel at the determination of the riders. The jumping
ring is always a particular favourite for riders and spectators alike.
The day starts at 9.30am with Tack and Turn Out in the Showing ring and
clear round jumping in the Main ring. The Fun Showing classes start off
with fancy dress at 10.30am. The

Club Club
Memberships for 2009-2010 are now available.
Membership includes free access to the
Saturday night entertainment in the Social Club, other events
include the Wednesday night quiz and the Friday evening cash prize bingo
in the Public Hall as well as the bar and meals.
Sports available through the Club are Indoor Carpet bowls, Table
Tennis, Badminton, Outdoor Bowls, Cricket, Tennis, Football and Petanque.
The Club also supports Judo, Line Dancing, Carpet Bowls, Pocahontas
Players, Heacham Wives, Royal Order of Buffaloes and Heacham & West
