Heacham Table Tennis Club based within Heacham Club Charity had our grand opening hard bat tournament to show off all our new equipment and facilities. For the first time we were able to stage an excellent tournament in Heacham Public Hall. All thanks to a 6000 grant from Table Tennis England plus four new table tennis tables purchased by Heacham Youth and Community Trust Ltd and further funding from Norfolk Community Foundation, Heacham Youth Trust and Heacham Poorsland. The tournament started at 10am with groups of six players on each of the four tables. Then there was an hour break for some fantastic refreshments. In the afternoon there was another competition, this time a hard bat doubles format. After each player had played five singles in the morning and then five doubles in the afternoon it came down to a grand final. The final was contested by Mary-Ann Woodhouse partnered by Graham Keeley and  Sabrina Rayner with Rob Yarrow. At the end of the ten minutes allotted time it was dead level...............in extra time it was Mary-Ann and Graham who took the title. A fantastic time was had by all.

Sorry I did not manage to get down to tables 3 and 4 to take photos but with timing the games
I struggled to leave my post!

Finally it was said it was run like a military campaign as we started and finished on time and I would like to thank all those who said how much they enjoyed it either after the event or by emails I received and people asked me to pass on their thanks to all involved. This wonderful day could not have been possible without my band of helpers, we had two dummy runs setting up and taking down plus of course my friends who did us proud with the food and of course the people who worked hard all day making sure everyone enjoyed themselves. My main super stars listed below
