The season starts next Monday 4th September with the 2 Player League where all 8 matches will be played in Heacham Public Hall. Once again we have the same seven teams in the normal league but in the 2 Player League the 8th team will be made up of Super Subs.

This season, instead of every week one team not having a match, a team made up of Super Subs would fill this space. Obviously as the super subs help out playing for different teams throughout the season these matches would not be part of the league. These friendly matches will have two purposes it will give all teams a match every week also they will only take place if the team with a free week wants this extra match and also provided I can get a Super Sub team together. The main object of this new set up is for: (1) to give the super subs the chance to play more matches as this season some super subs did not get a match, either because they were playing in another league or unavailable, (2) The super sub team when possible will be made up of 'horses for courses' . This means if a team has some young players who need to play better players but without the pressure of it being in the actual league this will fit the bill. If there are new inexperienced players in the team they can play in these matches and the super subs will pick their less experienced players. This will give new players the chance of match play with no pressure. So we are now looking for two different types of Super Sub.
1. To be a main super sub all you have to do is be registered with Table Tennis England there is no other cost except a £2 match fee when you play. No commitment, you will be asked to play and you say yes or no.
2. To be a super sub (friendly only), these super subs will only play in the friendly matches and so as it is not part of the league these 'friendly' super subs do not have to be TTE registered just be an associate member (which is free). So for any new players who think they might like to eventually play league this would give them match experience without any cost other than a £2 match fee when they play. Then if they feel league play is for them all they have to do is then be TTE registered at £14 adult and £7 junior.

So fancy being either a Super Sub or a Super Sub (friendly) please get in contact.

WCCP returns to Ally Pally

Jan 27-28, 2018

The World Championship of Ping Pong returns to Alexandra Palace, London, January 27-28, 2018.

The game that fell out of favour with the advent of super-spin inducing rubber bats years ago is returning to the mainstream thanks to a potent mixture of speed, power and old-fashioned skill courtesy of the technology-free sandpaper bats.

Now into its sixth year at the iconic Alexandra Palace, London, the World Championship is a throwback to the early days of table tennis and is catapulting ping pong into the big league and onto the international television stage.

The action is fast and furious, with the emphasis on speed, skill and shot-making - only the very best will see it through the Sunday night’s closing stages.

Tickets start at £16.50 per adult, with day and season tickets available. Early bookers are rewarded with up to 33% off all tickets when bought before September 30, pricing adult tickets at as little as £11 and concessions at £7.50

A Kids Go Free offer allows up to four free child tickets when bought with two adult season tickets, priced at £110 or just £75 on the early bird offer until September 30. Tickets are on sale now at www.worldchampionshipofpingpong.net or by calling 0844 581 0888
