On 2nd November Mollie travelled to the Sir Tom Finney Sports Arena in Preston, to play in the second senior Grand Prix of the season. On the Saturday she played in the Banded events, Mollie plays in the top 2 bands, and she came runner-up in both events, losing to a Defensive player from Moldova in the finals of both.
On the Sunday morning it was the senior women’s singles where Mollie lost in the quarter finals to the number 1 seed, a Chinese girl from Nottingham University. On Sunday afternoon it was the under 21's, Mollie won this event, with a good win in the final 3-1 over Welsh youngster Anna Hursey (Anna was the youngest player to represent Wales in a senior event in the Commonwealth Games in Australia earlier this year).
On Tuesday 6th November Mollie flew to Hungary for a premium ITTF world tour event, These are the highest standard Junior tournaments in Europe, and the competition was very strong with many top ranked European players and also a lot of quality Asian players. In her singles group, Mollie lost to 2 European players 3-1 and 3-2, and then came up against a very strong Chinese girl who she lost 3-0 to. Mollie was reasonably pleased with how she played, but was very nervous, which highlights the need to play more European tournaments. In the Team event, England lost 3-0 to a very strong German team, They also lost 3-1 to the Hungarians, but then finished the tournament with a 3-2 Victory over Norway Mollie winning 1 and losing 1 of her Matches.

MOLLIE GETS OFF TO A GREAT START IN SWEDEN LADIES LEAGUE

Mollie waiting for the start of her first match for Angby SK

Mollie Patterson had a great start in her first weekend in the Ladies League in Sweden over the weekend of 22/23 September 2018. She was playing at home for Angby SK which is based just West of Stockholm. Angby SK play in Division One North in the Women's League. In her first match against Mariedals IK she won all her three singles and teamed up with Maria Engelson to win the doubles and with it winning the match 6-3. In her second match she won two of her three singles and lost the doubles with Maria however the team still edged home 6-4.
There are three further weekends during the season another one before Christmas and the final two in the New Year. One more match to be played at Angby, one in Gotherburg and one about an hour and a half North of Stockholm. The next match before Christmas is in Gothenburg.

On Sunday 16th September Mollie Patterson reached the final of the 4* Junior Greenhouse Tournament held at Crest Academy in London. Mollie met the Welsh International player Anna Hursey in the final and just lost 9-11, 11-5, 7-11 & 13-15. This was an excellent performance by Mollie as her opponent was the highly talented star from Wales who represented Wales at senior level in the Commonwealth Games in Australia earlier this year and also plays all over Europe. Mollie also had played well in the team event when she helped her school the Charles Reed Academy into runners up spot in the team event losing to the Welsh team. In this event Mollie again had a tussle in one of her games against Anna and just lost 11-9 in the fifth end. WELL DONE MOLLIE!

PLEASE HELP MOLLIE TO GET A TABLE TENNIS WORLD RANKING

We are raising £1,000 to Help fund Mollie Patterson to play in some European Table Tennis Tournaments

Please help us to help Mollie. Mollie missed out on the chance to play for England at the European Championships this year as she didn't have a world ranking despite being one of the top ranked players in England. To get an ITTF world ranking she will need to play some European Tournaments which come at a cost, our current funds simply won't cover. It would be great if you could help us overcome this hurdle. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.

A quiz night has been arranged and details can be seen on the poster below, want to help Mollie then please enter a team.

You can also help Mollie by donating, just click on the link below to donate.

THANK YOU!
