Vaughan

Mick

Mike

Rob

Graham

Tom

Monday evening in the Heacham Public Hall and the Challenge format as Adrian's Allstars took on high flying Hunnys Heroes. The Allstars were without their Captain who was away on holiday so it was Super Sub Vaughan Parker who stepped in to join Mick Minns and Mike Nobes. For the Heroes it was their regular three in the shape of Rob and Tom Yarrow and Graham Keeley. Two five enders and five four enders and some really close games. The first game of doubles between Vaughan and Mike against Rob and Tom was one of the five enders and it was Rob and Tom who just edged home in the fifth. The Heroes went two ahead when Graham beat Mike in four ends. The next two singles went to the Allstars when Mick beat Tom and Vaughan beat Rob. Five more games followed and all were very close but it was the Heroes who took the honours and with it a 7-2 win.

RINGSTEAD RAIDERS  (1) SEDGEFORD STARS  (8)

Richard

Paul

Mark

Mike

Dan

Charley

Wednesday evening and we are at Ringstead Village Hall for the first time this season and it was the home sides trio of Richard Hendricks, Paul Humeniuk and Mark Hipkin. Their opponents Sedgeford Stars and it was Mike and Dan Witley being joined by Super Sub Charley Hammond standing in for Paul Richardson. Charley and Mike went unbeaten in their two singles games and Dan won one of his singles when he beat Mark. The Stars teamed up to win all three doubles. For the Raiders it was a single win for Paul over Dan but what a fight that was in a close five ender 7-11, 12-10, 9-11, 13-11 & 12-10. Final score 8-1 to the Stars.

SPIVS SPECIALS  (1) BT VICTORY  (8)

Stephen

Jim

Aaron

Mary-Ann

Simon

David

Moving on to Thursday evening and in the top room of Heacham Public Hall it was Spivs Specials taking on BT Victory. It is obvious from the start of the season Victory are looking to improve on their runners-up spot last season. Their number one Mary-Ann Woodhouse was joined by Simon Rayner and David Howell while the Specials had the same line-up as last week Jim Race, Stephen Jackson and his 14 year old son Aaron. The first game of doubles was the only four ender of the match when Stephen and Aaron managed to take an end off Mary-Ann and David. Jim went one better for the home side in game three when he beat David in three close ends. However that was it for the Specials, the determined Victory side finished up winning 8-1. They are once again, like last season, in second place behind Hunnys Heroes but by just one point.

To play in the Heacham League all you need to do is be TTE registered. If any player is looking for a game please get in touch. Once again we are looking for 'Super Subs'. So what is a Super Sub? They are players who play in other TTE affiliated leagues but would like an extra match or two or more during the season. There is no cost to be a Super Sub as long as you are TTE registered. There is no commitment on your part, if a team is short of a player they will have a list of Super Subs and contact details. They will contact you asking if you can help out and it is your choice to say if you are available or not.
