BT victory (8) Adrian's Allstars (2)

Mary-Ann

David

Steve

Adrian

Charley

Mike

Monday evening and it was a determined BT Victory who entered Heacham Public Hall where they took on Adrian's Allstars. Mary-Ann Woodhouse and Steve Hales both kept a clean sheet but not without a fight as both were taken to five enders. David Howell chipped in with a singles win plus he teamed up with Mary-Ann to win the doubles in their 8-2 victory over the Allstars. In the three, five enders the Allstars just lost out in each one. Twice Adrian Evans went to five ends losing to David and Steve and Super Sub Charley Hammond lost in five ends to Mary-Ann. Charley had consolation with a win over David and also Mike Nobes had a win over David. This win puts Victory on level terms with Hunnys Heroes at the top of the table. In two weeks time it is the big clash between these two teams.

Ringstead Raiders (7) Spivs Specials (3)

Roger

Mark

Malc

Chris

Tim

Jeff

Wednesday evening and we move over to Ringstead Village Hall where the home side Ringstead Raiders took on visiting Spivs Specials. For the Raiders it was regulars Roger Pincott and Mark Hipkin joined by Super Sub Malc Diggins while for the Specials it was Tim Race alongside previous Specials player Chris Griggs and Jeff Race who have kindly become Super Subs although they will only be available when not needed by the Specials. A really enjoyable night was had by all with, as always, some classic games in the 7-3 win for the Raiders. However it was Tim from the Specials who was the outstanding player of the night after a three end win over Mark in his first game he was involved in two classic five enders. The first one against Malc who found Tim getting everything back time and time again. Tim lead 2 games to 1 and was ahead in the fourth but Malc managed to edge home 11-9 and the same thing happened in the fifth and final end when again Malc just and only just edged it 11-9. When Tim took on Roger he was 2 ends to 1 down but then again returning everything that Roger threw at him in ends 4 and 5, he managed to win in five ends. In the final game of doubles he teamed up with Jeff to once more have another five ender, this time against Roger and Mark and the Specials came through winning 11-9 in the final end. A match enjoyed by all six players, competitive but above all a friendly great night.

Sedgeford Stars (3) Sedgeford Savages (7)

Mike

Paul

Dan

John

Kerry

Ian

Thursday evening and we are now in Sedgeford Village Hall and it is the local derby between the Sedgeford Stars trio of Mike and Dan Witley and Paul Richardson and their opponents Sedgeford Savages. The Savages were John Marrow, Kerry Smith and Ian Rix and it was the Savages who came out on top winning 7-3. Once again some very close games with five going to four ends plus one five ender. Yet again it was Ian who came away with a maximum and he had good support with Kerry winning two games and John one, plus they teamed up to win the doubles over Paul and Dan. For the Stars Mike only lost to Ian and Paul had a win over John.

To play in the Heacham League all you need to do is be TTE registered. If any player is looking for a game please get in touch. Once again we are looking for 'Super Subs'. So what is a Super Sub? They are players who play in other TTE affiliated leagues but would like an extra match or two or more during the season. There is no cost to be a Super Sub as long as you are TTE registered. There is no commitment on your part, if a team is short of a player they will have a list of Super Subs and contact details. They will contact you asking if you can help out and it is your choice to say if you are available or not.
