Monday evening and it was the Challenge Format and BT Victory were at home to Sedgeford Stars. The Victory side still looked very determined to win the league when Mary-Ann Woodhouse, Ian Reynolds and Steve Hales romped home 8-1 winning all the six singles games and two of the three doubles. It was Paul Richardson and Dan Witley who got the point for the Stars with an epic five ender against Ian and Steve 11-7, 11-2, 10-12, 11-13 & 12-14. Next week the big clash in the new 'Special' format as the Victory side do battle with joint leaders and last years champions Hunnys Heroes.  WATCH THIS SPACE.

Wednesday evening and we are at Ringstead Village Hall when the home side Ringstead Raiders trio, Justin Mullins, Stephen Stafford and Mark Hipkin faced the high flying Hunnys Heroes. The Heroes had their three regulars Graham Keeley and Rob and Tom Yarrow in determined mood to make sure they stay in contention to retain the title they won last season. With them not knowing that on Monday evening their big rivals BT Victory had won 8-1. The Heroes pulled out all the stops as they cruised to a 9-0 win and it was noted they celebrated with a drink afterwards in the Gin Trap next door. This now means they are one point ahead of BT Victory and next Monday the two teams clash...watch this space for a full report and photos.

Spivs Specials (2) Sedgeford Savages (7)

Stephen

Chris

Aaron

Ian

Charley

Kerry

Thursday evening and we are back at Heacham this time in the top room of the main hall. Spivs Specials had Stephen Jackson, son Aaron and Super Sub Chris Griggs in their team against visiting Sedgeford Savages. For the Savages it was Ian Rix and Kerry Smith joined by Super Sub Charley Hammond. With three experienced players in the Savages side they ran out winners 7-2. However the game of the night was the singles encounter when Stephen met Ian, with the first two ends going to Ian 6-11 & 10-12 but then Stephen managed to take it to five ends winning the last three ends 12-10, 11-7 & 11-9. The Heacham league is all about trying to bring more players into the game and it is obviously working with more and more teams like the Specials introducing new young and not so young players into their team. Chris who was last season in the Specials Squad agreed this season, along with Jeff Race, to be Super Subs hopefully giving them more matches but it would still be the Specials who had first priority.

NEXT WEEKS MATCHES W/C MONDAY 23RD OCTOBER 2017

Monday night at Heacham in main hall....Hunnys Heroes vs BT Victory
Monday night at Heacham in main hall.....Super Subs vs Spivs Specials (Friendly Fixture)
Wednesday night at Sedgeford Village Hall....Sedgeford Savages vs Ringstead Raiders

To play in the Heacham League all you need to do is be TTE registered. If any player is looking for a game please get in touch. Once again we are looking for 'Super Subs'. So what is a Super Sub? They are players who play in other TTE affiliated leagues but would like an extra match or two or more during the season. There is no cost to be a Super Sub as long as you are TTE registered. There is no commitment on your part, if a team is short of a player they will have a list of Super Subs and contact details. They will contact you asking if you can help out and it is your choice to say if you are available or not.
