It was the third week of the very successful 2 Player League on Monday 30th October in Heacham Public Hall when all 8 teams played two matches each. With plenty of helpers turning up early we were all set up by 6.45pm (thanks to all those who came in early). Matches got underway at 7.15pm on all four tables. In the first session on table one it was a 13-2 win for the Super Subs pairing of Charley Hammond and Malc Diggins over Sedgeford Stars duo Paul Richardson and Dan Witley. On table two Spivs Specials had Jim Race and Chris Griggs on board and they just edged home 8-7 over Hunnys Heroes who are sticking with brothers Tom and Alfie Yarrow and how it is paying off. Alfie is improving all the time and won two ends during the match plus an end in the doubles with Tom. Table Three and it was high flying BT Victory when their top two Mary-Ann Woodhouse and Steve Hales teamed up for a 15-0 win over Ringstead Raiders Richard Hendricks and Stephen Stafford. Table Four saw Sedgeford Savages Kerry Smith and John Marrow lose 5-10 to Adrian's Allstars Mick Minns and Adrian Evans. In the second session on Table One it was a great win for Tom and Alfie when Hunnys Heroes edged home 8-7 over Ringstead Raiders Richard and Stephen. Tom lead the way but with great support from young Alfie which included a 2-1 win for him over Richard. Table Two unfortunately had some drama when in the very first game in the match between Adrian's Allstars and Super Subs. Mick twisted his ankle going for a shot against Malc and so could not continue. After a short period when Mick decided not to continue he was substituted by Rob Yarrow who said he would be happy to be a Super Sub in the two player league instead of being registered for Hunnys Heroes. He proved a great asset for the Allstars as he only lost one end out of six and with it the Allstars won 10-5. Table Three saw the Savages duo Kerry and John beat Spivs Specials Jim and Chris 9-6. Finally BT Victory continued their big winning ways with a 14-1 win over Sedgeford Stars. A great night of enjoyable table tennis finished just after 9.15pm. Time once again to thank all those who stopped behind to help put up the tables and take all the surrounds, umpires tables, scoreboards etc into the storeroom...job done in around 10 minutes .. as they say 'more hands make light work'.

NEXT WEEKS MATCHES W/C MONDAY 6TH NOVEMBER 2017 (Normal League Format)

Monday evening in Heacham Public Hall  Hunnys Heroes vs Sedgeford Savages
Monday evening in Heacham Public Hall Friendly Match between BT Victory and Friendly Super Subs
Wednesday evening in Ringstead Village Hall  Ringstead Raiders vs Adrian's Allstars
Thursday evening in Sedgeford Village Hall  Sedgeford Stars vs Spivs Specials

To play in the Heacham League all you need to do is be TTE registered. If any player is looking for a game please get in touch. Once again we are looking for 'Super Subs'. So what is a Super Sub? They are players who play in other TTE affiliated leagues but would like an extra match or two or more during the season. There is no cost to be a Super Sub as long as you are TTE registered. There is no commitment on your part, if a team is short of a player they will have a list of Super Subs and contact details. They will contact you asking if you can help out and it is your choice to say if you are available or not.
