HUNNYS HEROES MARCH ON WITH ANOTHER BIG WIN!

A big night in Heacham Public hall on Monday 6th November with three matches being played. On table one it was a KLTTA Challenge Cup match when the two Heacham teams were drawn to play each other. Heacham's Premier team of James Patterson, David Woolley and Aaron Howell showed no mercy when they beat the 'A' teams Leigh McDonald, Finlay Hewson and Benji Richardson 9-0 and now move into the next round.

On table two it was league leaders Hunnys Heroes in action when they took on third place Sedgeford Savages. A hard fought match with 3 five enders and 3 four enders but it was the Heroes who showed the way winning 10-0. Regulars Rob and Tom Yarrow and Graham Keeley kept a clean sheet against the Savages team that never gave up but John Marrow, Kerry Smith and Super Sub Mike Wade just could not convert any of the games. John was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet as he went down to Rob 11-7, 11-7, 8-11, 8-11 & 11-6 and three games later lost again in five ends 4-11, 11-1, 11-9, 11-13 & 11-5 to Graham. Kerry also had a classic against Rob again five ends losing 11-6 in the final end. With BT Victory having a league week off this means the Heroes extend their lead.

Another great friendly match between
BT Victory and The Friendly Super Subs

Also on Monday evening in the Heacham Public Hall on Table Three it was the second friendly match between BT Victory and The Friendly Super Subs. BT had their same three with the elder statesman Steve Hales alongside the young Jack and Joe Woodhouse. For the Super Subs in was again Debbie Peel and young Alfie Yarrow and it was Eileen Needham replacing Rob Yarrow who had a league match on Table Two. What can I say but what an enjoyable match with everyone improved since the first match and although the score does not really matter it was BT Victory who got revenge and edged home 5-4. Great sportsmanship, fun throughout and well done to all who played. In the second half of the season there well could be the decider. Next week another friendly the return match between Spivs Specials and The Friendly Super Subs.

On a cold near frosty night Adrian's Allstars travelled to Ringstead to take on the Raiders. For the Raiders it was Justin Mullins, Paul Humeniuk and Mark Hipkin and for the Allstars it was Adrian Evans and Mike Nobes joined by Super Sub Malc Diggins standing in for the injured Mick Minns. Malc got the Allstars off to a winning start with a win over Justin but then Paul made it all square with a four end win over Adrian. Mike then put the visitors ahead again with a four end win over Mark. First five ender of the night saw Malc just edge home against Paul. Some more close games followed but they all went the way of the Allstars with the final score 9-1.

Thursday evening at Sedgeford Village Hall it was Sedgeford Stars up against Spivs Specials. We welcome to the Heacham League Jim Pontin, Sedgeford's latest Super Sub as he joined the Stars regulars Paul Richardson and Dan Witley. They were up against the Specials trio of Tim Race and Stephen and Aaron Jackson.  Jim was up first against Tim and it was Tim who won in four ends. Then we had the only five ender of the night when Paul went down to Stephen 11-4, 8-11, 11-8, 8-11 & 8-11. Dan pulled one back with a win over Aaron. Paul made it all square with a win over Tim. The Stars then went in front 3-2 when Jim beat Aaron. Back came the Specials when Stephen beat Dan. Back in front again went the Stars when Paul beat Aaron but then the last three games all went to the Specials and with it a 6-4 win. Man of the Match with a great maximum Stephen.

To play in the Heacham League all you need to do is be TTE registered. If any player is looking for a game please get in touch. Once again we are looking for 'Super Subs'. So what is a Super Sub? They are players who play in other TTE affiliated leagues but would like an extra match or two or more during the season. There is no cost to be a Super Sub as long as you are TTE registered. There is no commitment on your part, if a team is short of a player they will have a list of Super Subs and contact details. They will contact you asking if you can help out and it is your choice to say if you are available or not.
