Monday evening in Heacham Public Hall and it was Adrian's Allstars up against Sedgeford Savages. With the sad news that the Allstars number one Mick Minns would be out for the rest of the season (come back fighting next season Mick) it was Super Sub Charley Hammond stepping in alongside Adrian Evans and Mike Nobes. For the Stars is was Kerry Smith joined by two new Super Subs we welcome to the Heacham League Benji Richardson and Dad Bob. Well it was a determined home side who showed no mercy which started with Charley beating Kerry and then a great win for Adrian over Benji in three ends, Mike followed this up with a four end win over Bob. The Allstars then also won the next two singles before Benji stopped the run with a four end win over Mike. In game seven Adrian clinched a brilliant maximum not dropping an end all evening when he beat Bob. Two five enders followed when Mike beat Kerry and Charley beat Benji. The evening finished with a doubles win for the home team and with it a 9-1 result.

On Wednesday evening BT Victory travelled to Ringstead to take on the Raiders knowing they could not drop even a single point if they wanted to keep up the challenge for the title. So it was regulars Mary-Ann Woodhouse and Steve Hales joined by and we welcome to the Heacham league Mick Ruffles. They were up against the Raiders trio of Richard Hendricks, Paul Humeniuk and Steven Stafford. The short answer is 'mission accomplished' after the first game when Richard took Steve to four ends all the rest were three enders and with it a 10-0 win.

One night later in the top room at Heacham it was a completely different story for league champions Hunnys Heroes when they came up against the fighting Spivs Specials. For the Heroes Rob and Tom Yarrow and Graham Keeley while for the Specials their strongest trio in the shape of Stephen Jackson, Jim and Tim Race. The Heroes knew they were in for a hard match from the very start when Stephen not only took Graham to five ends but finished up winning 11-7 in the fifth. While still shell shocked Jim beat Rob in three ends and so for the first time this season the Heroes found themselves in a bit of trouble. Tom steadied the ship with a win over Tim. Like true champions the Heroes fought back as Graham beat Jim in four ends, Stephen then pushed Tom all the way just losing out in the fifth end. Tim then lost to Rob in four ends so the Heroes were now 4-2 up. Jim then came back to the table to get his second win of the match when he beat Tom. So back to just one point between them. Some more classic games followed with a four end win for Graham over Tim, then Stephen who was, according to the remarks on the scorecard, 'On fire' just lost to Rob in five close ends. These incredible games continued into the doubles when Stephen and Jim just lost out to Graham and Tom in five ends with match point won with a net! 11-7, 7-11, 5-11, 11-3 & 10-12. What a match which finished up with a hard fought win for the Heroes 7-3...comments on the scorecard 'Fantastic Match vs Fantastic Opponents and Sportsmen.

To play in the Heacham League all you need to do is be TTE registered. If any player is looking for a game please get in touch. Once again we are looking for 'Super Subs'. So what is a Super Sub? They are players who play in other TTE affiliated leagues but would like an extra match or two or more during the season. There is no cost to be a Super Sub as long as you are TTE registered. There is no commitment on your part, if a team is short of a player they will have a list of Super Subs and contact details. They will contact you asking if you can help out and it is your choice to say if you are available or not.
