HUNNYS HEROES AND BT VICTORY CONTINUE TO DOMINATE BUT NOT WITHOUT A FIGHT FROM TEAMS JUST BELOW THEM IN THE LEAGUE!

What a great night of table tennis on Monday evening in Heacham Public Hall, table one and two both had terrific matches where once again the final scores did not reflect the closeness of either match. On table one it was league champions up against Adrian's Allstars while on table two it was champion chasers BT Victory up against the determined Spivs Specials. I was up on the stage trying to keep an eye on both matches while both Hunnys Heroes and BT Victory were keeping an eye on each others results. On table one it was the Heroes trio of Graham Keeley and Rob and Tom Yarrow while for the Allstars Adrian Evans, Mike Nobes and Super Sub the Queen of unbelievable angle shots Eileen Needham (thanks Eileen from us all for the wonderful home made mince pies and biscuits they were lovely). Looking through the scorecard there were loads of ends that went way past eleven with the closest one being 18-16. However although the Heroes were once again, like last week, pushed hard they found a way to clinch every game and so with it a 10-0 win. On table two it was the Victory side of Steve Hales, Mary-Ann Woodhouse and David Howell taking on the same Specials trio, who pushed the Heroes last week, Stephen Jackson, Jim and Tim Race. This match was even closer in many ends as on table one, three five enders and plenty of four enders but once again it was a big win for the Victory side 9-1. It was Stephen who managed to get the point for the Specials with a four end win over David. Comments on scorecard of 'A very enjoyable night...as ever' sums up a great evening.

On Thursday evening, as the weather started to turn cold, over in Sedgeford Village Hall it was the Sedgeford Stars trio of Mike and Dan Witley and Paul Richardson up against visiting Ringstead Raiders who had Mark Hipkin, Justin Mullins and Roger Pincott in action. It was an impressive 8-2 win for the Stars and with it they move back into 4th place in the league. Mike and Paul both went unbeaten and Dan chipped in with a win over Justin and he also teamed up with Paul to take the doubles. For the Raiders it was a win each for Mark and Roger over Dan.
NEXT WEEKS FIXTURES W/C MONDAY 11TH DECEMBER 2017 (TWO PLAYER LEAGUE)

Monday 11th December in Heacham Public Hall all 8 teams playing in the two player league with all teams playing two matches during the evening. As always a reminder that it is imperative all teams turn up with a minimum of two players (teams can have different players in each match if needed).
We will start setting up at 6.30pm and as always request as many people to come early to help so we can make a prompt start at 7.15pm plus will all teams chip in to help clear up afterwards....Thanks in advance.

To play in the Heacham League all you need to do is be TTE registered. If any player is looking for a game please get in touch. Once again we are looking for 'Super Subs'. So what is a Super Sub? They are players who play in other TTE affiliated leagues but would like an extra match or two or more during the season. There is no cost to be a Super Sub as long as you are TTE registered. There is no commitment on your part, if a team is short of a player they will have a list of Super Subs and contact details. They will contact you asking if you can help out and it is your choice to say if you are available or not.
