Monday evening in Heacham Public Hall on Table One Hunnys Heroes up against Spivs Specials. The Heroes trio of Graham Keeley and Rob and Tom Yarrow were concentrating on their match but also keeping an eye on Table Two where challengers for the league title, BT Victory, were in action against Ringstead Raiders. On paper it looked like big wins for the top two teams and big wins there were as both came away with 9-0 results. Some close games on both tables but the Specials team of Tim and Jeff Race and Super Sub Eileen Needham could not manage to get a point on the scorecard. The same happened on Table Two when the Victory side of Mick Ruffles, Steve Hales and David Howell were just too strong for the Raiders team of Richard Hendricks, Justin Mullins and Paul Humeniuk. But comments were made in both matches on how the Raiders and Specials have improved.

On a very cold frosty night on Wednesday it was Sedgeford Savages taking on Adrian's Allstars. The home side had their number one Ian Rix joined by Kerry Smith and Super Sub Benji Richardson. While for the Allstars Adrian Evans, Mike Nobes and Super Sub Charley Hammond. The two top players of the match were Ian going unbeaten in his two singles and Mike doing the same for the Allstars winning both his singles and he also won both his doubles when partnering Charley and Adrian. Benji added a point for the home side with a win over Adrian and their final point came from a doubles win for Ian and Kerry over Charley and Adrian. For the visitors Charley had a close five ender just beating Kerry 12-10, 6-11, 9-11, 11-9 & 10-12. It was the two out of three doubles wins that just edged the Allstars to their 5-4 win. I am not sure if Adrian left his new bat at home if not the value of it has just gone down.

NEXT WEEKS FIXTURES W/C MONDAY 12TH FEBRUARY 2018 ((NORMAL FORMAT)

Monday    12th February in Heacham Public Hall        Hunnys Heroes vs Ringstead Raiders
Monday    12th February in Heacham Public Hall        BT Victory vs Sedgeford Stars
Thursday 15th February in Top Room at Heacham     Spivs Specials vs Sedgeford Savages

Please note the road from Heacham to Sedgeford will shut at Sedgeford from next Monday 12th February for three weeks to Friday 2nd March. The closure is from the Snettisham Road Junction to the King William. Although this is only about 70 yards it cuts Sedgeford village in half. This means travelling from Heacham to Sedgeford Village Hall will have to be via Ringstead Road. For BT Victory when travelling to Heacham they will have to make arrangements to avoid this by travelling again via the Ringstead Road. So will all teams please note for the next 3 weeks to allow extra travelling time so matches at all venues can still start on time. I would estimate you will need to allow at least 10 to 15 minutes extra to your journey time.

To play in the Heacham League all you need to do is be TTE registered. If any player is looking for a game please get in touch. Once again we are looking for 'Super Subs'. So what is a Super Sub? They are players who play in other TTE affiliated leagues but would like an extra match or two or more during the season. There is no cost to be a Super Sub as long as you are TTE registered. There is no commitment on your part, if a team is short of a player they will have a list of Super Subs and contact details. They will contact you asking if you can help out and it is your choice to say if you are available or not.
