Rob, Tom & Graham (Hunnys Heroes)         Ian, Mary-Ann & Steve (BT Victory)

What a match, it started at 7.30pm and did not finish until 10.45pm. I think the scorecard (above) tells it all. First game saw Mary-Ann (no need for surnames you know them all) take the first two ends against Graham and then Graham took the next two ends as he did in their previous meeting but this time he failed to take the final end and so Mary-Ann got her revenge and put Victory 1-0 up. Next up another five ender when Rob edged home over Steve. So one all. Victory then went ahead when Ian beat Tom in four ends but back came the Heroes when Rob beat Mary-Ann again in four ends. Graham then got on the scorecard with yet another four ender beating Ian. Tom then got another point for the Heroes as he beat Steve yet again in four ends. Rob then virtually sealed the match completing a fine maximum when he beat Ian in another four ender. Mary-Ann got her second win of the night with the only three ender in the match beating Tom. Back to another four ender when Graham beat Steve. Possibly the best game of the night was the doubles as it was another five end classic when it looked like Ian and Mary-Ann were going to beat Graham and Rob. But having match point they could not convert and it was 13-11 to the Heroes duo. I think I can now safely say as far as winning the league is concerned I will use the 1966 Football World Cup famous saying
'They think its all over well it is now'!

Wednesday evening in Sedgeford Village Hall it was the Sedgeford Savages trio of Kerry Smith, John Marrow and Ian Rix taking on Ringstead Raiders Richard Hendricks and Steven Stafford. It was an early finish not like the match above with the Savages coming away with a 10-0 win. This moves them up into fourth place in the league.

Thursday evening in Sedgeford Village Hall and it was Sedgeford Stars up against Adrian's Allstars. for the Stars Mike and Dan Witley and Super Sub Mike Wade while for the Allstars it was Mike Nobes joined by super Subs Vaughan Parker and Charley Hammond. This was a great match where the final score does not reflect the closeness of some of the games. Mike Witley was very unlucky to not get a point on the scorecard losing two close games in five ends, one against Vaughan 9-11 in the fifth end and the other against Mike Nobes when he had four match points but finally lost 10-12. Final score 10-0 to the Allstars, this keeps them in third place in the league while the Stars are in fifth place.

To play in the Heacham League all you need to do is be TTE registered. If any player is looking for a game please get in touch. Once again we are looking for 'Super Subs'. So what is a Super Sub? They are players who play in other TTE affiliated leagues but would like an extra match or two or more during the season. There is no cost to be a Super Sub as long as you are TTE registered. There is no commitment on your part, if a team is short of a player they will have a list of Super Subs and contact details. They will contact you asking if you can help out and it is your choice to say if you are available or not.
