Another great night in Heacham Public Hall with two tables being used for coaching while the third table had yet another marathon match like last week. It was the 'Special' format with each player playing one single game and four doubles. The teams were Adrian's Allstars and visiting Sedgeford Savages.  For the home team Mike Nobes was joined by Super Subs Malc Diggins and Eileen Needham while the Savages had regulars Kerry Smith and John Marrow joined by Super Sub Benji Richardson. The scorecard tells it all with five, five enders and two four enders it was a marathon match to say the least. The final result was a 5-4 win for the Allstars but it could have easily been 5-4 to the Savages as you will see by the scorecard some ends went as far as 17-15 and many more went way past the eleven mark. Great Sportsmanship and great fun. Everyone managed to get a win to their name and the fit people went home smiling while the one not so fit went home to bed and woke up feeling he had run a marathon everyday for a month!

Wednesday evening in Ringstead Village Hall it was the Ringstead Raiders trio of Paul Humeniuk, Stephen Stafford and Roger Pincott taking on BT Victory who had Steve Hales, Mary-Ann Woodhouse and David Howell on board. Victory needed a big win to try and keep in touch with league leaders Hunnys Heroes and after a hard fought match they came away with an 8-1 win. The Raiders point came from a doubles win by Stephen and Paul over Steve and David.

SPIVS SPECIALS (5)   VS   HUNNYS HEROES (4)

Jeff, Stephen & Jim (Spivs Specials)   Eileen, Tom & Rob (Hunnys Heroes)

Thursday evening in the top room at Heacham it was a sparkling Spivs Specials in determined mood when they took on league leaders Hunnys Heroes. The Specials had Jim and Jeff Race and Stephen Jackson on board while the Heroes were without their number one so it was Rob and Tom Yarrow joined by Super Sub Eileen Needham. The Specials always seem to raise their game when they meet the top teams and this was no exception as they came away with an impressive 5-4 win. The six doubles were shared 3 apiece and it was the two singles wins by Jeff and Stephen that clinched it for the Specials. Rob for the Heroes continued his good form with a singles win over Jim. Match Comments: Excellent, Excellent night. Hard fought match with a good dose of friendly banter!

SEDGEFORD SAVAGES (5)   SEDGEFORD STARS (4)

Also on Thursday evening in Sedgeford Village Hall the re-arranged match, due to the snow a couple of weeks back, was the local derby between the Savages and the Stars. Always a close match and again this was no different as it was a narrow 5-4 win for the Savages. The Savages had their number one Ian Rix in good form when he beat Mike Witley, Kerry Smith playing her second match of the week had a win over Dan Witley but the Stars pulled one back when Paul Richardson beat Benji Richardson in a hard fought five ender. The six doubles were shared as the first three all went to the Stars and the final three went to the Savages.

Next Weeks Matches W/C Monday 19th March 2018 (2 Player League)

All eight teams will be playing two matches each on Monday 19th March in Heacham Public Hall.
We will start setting up at 6.30pm so we can make a prompt start at 7.15pm (at the latest). We would appreciate any players arriving between 6.45pm and 7pm to make sure we are all set up and will all teams taking part make sure you arrive as close to 7pm as possible. Finally will everyone pitch in to help clear up after the matches, this takes no longer than 10 minutes if we all help. Thanks

To play in the Heacham League all you need to do is be TTE registered. If any player is looking for a game please get in touch. Once again we are looking for 'Super Subs'. So what is a Super Sub? They are players who play in other TTE affiliated leagues but would like an extra match or two or more during the season. There is no cost to be a Super Sub as long as you are TTE registered. There is no commitment on your part, if a team is short of a player they will have a list of Super Subs and contact details. They will contact you asking if you can help out and it is your choice to say if you are available or not.
