On Wednesday evening in Ringstead Village Hall Hunnys Heroes team of Graham Keeley and Rob and Tom Yarrow finished in style with a 9-0 win over Ringstead Raiders Paul Humeniuk, Richard Hendricks and Roger Pincott. And what better way to celebrate winning the league than to pop next door to the Ringstead Gin Trap to celebrate. All three of the Heroes will be in action again on Sunday in the Hard Bat tournament in Heacham Public Hall in aid of Tapping House Hospice. Richard from the Raiders side is also competing.

On Wednesday evening, but in Sedgeford Village Hall it was Sedgeford Savages trio of Ian Rix, Kerry Smith and John Marrow also having a big win 8-1 over visiting Spivs Specials team of Jim Race, Chris Griggs and Super Sub Eileen Needham. The Savages won the first 8 games before the Specials duo of Jim and Eileen put a point on the scorecard with a win over Kerry and John.

Thursday evening in Sedgeford Village Hall and it was the final match of the season and as you can see it is always a fun night in the Heacham League. Sedgeford Stars Dan Witley had to pull out at the very last minute due to illness and so it was Kerry Smith of the Savages team who came to the rescue and joined Mike Witley and Paul Richardson. They were up against BT Victory who had smiles all round after coming runners up in the league, Mary-Ann Woodhouse, Ian Reynolds and Steve Hales. In the Special format it was the first doubles win for Mike and Kerry over Ian and Steve but then the next 8 games all went to Victory. So another great season ends but on Sunday we have the Hard Bat Tournament in memory of the late George Needham who was a popular figure at the Heacham Monday morning club and all proceeds will be going to Tapping House and we are hoping to get close to 500.

To play in the Heacham League all you need to do is be TTE registered. If any player is looking for a game please get in touch. Once again we are looking for 'Super Subs'. So what is a Super Sub? They are players who play in other TTE affiliated leagues but would like an extra match or two or more during the season. There is no cost to be a Super Sub as long as you are TTE registered. There is no commitment on your part, if a team is short of a player they will have a list of Super Subs and contact details. They will contact you asking if you can help out and it is your choice to say if you are available or not.
