Last night in the Public Hall it was
the Challenge format in the Heacham
Internal League and another great
evening.
On table one it was an in form
Counter Hitters who had a big 7-2
win over Coastal Crusaders. It was
led by an unbeaten display by Ian
Rix, winning both his singles and
his doubles games. This included a
hard fought win in five ends over
Leigh McDonald 10-12, 13-11, 9-11,
11-9 and 9-11. Ian's support came
from Paul Waterman and Tony Trayford
who both added 2 points each. For
the Crusaders it was a single win
each for Bob Richardson and Leigh.
On table two a much closer match as
the league leaders edged home 5-4
against Adrian's Allstars. No player
could keep a clean sheet while Benji
Richardson top scored for The
Terriers with 2 points while Janice
Howell and Eileen Needham had 1.5
points each. Charley Hammond top
scored for the Allstars with 2
points while Trevor Mason added 1.5
and Jim Duncan 0.5.
On table three it was a 6-3 win for
second place The Inlaws thanks to an
all-round team performance with
Aaron Jackson leading the way with a
fine maximum, winning all his
singles and doubles. His support
came from dad Stephen and Jim Race
who both added 1.5 points. For The
Knights, top scorer was Mick Forth
with 2.5 points staying unbeaten in
his singles but he was pushed all
the way by Jim taking him to five
ends. Ollie Loades added 0.5 point
to complete the 3 points.
